National School Counseling Week this year is going to be February 2-6, 2015. The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) states that the purpose of the week is “to focus public attention on the unique contribution of professional school counselors within U.S. school systems.”
If you would like to celebrate National School Counseling week and need ideas of what you can do, go to the ASCA website at schoolcounselor.org. ASCA is full of great materials including a sample press release, a proclamation, posters, and certificates of appreciation that counselors can give to helpful faculty, parents and anyone else who warrants recognition. The deadline to order items (many are free) is January 23, 2015.
Let’s not allow another School Counseling Week to pass us by. Happy Planning!
